Credit Card Juggle

The thing that makes credit cards so dangerous is that they are convenient. It is so much easier to just swipe your card than have to deal with change all day long in your pocket. Really the whole convenience excuse isn’t enough though for some people they just get addicted to the allusion of having a lot of money. Credit cards give you pretty good buying power but they also carry with them a very large interest rate. For most this interest rate would detour them from spending the money they don’t have but for a few that isn’t enough. It is a rough life having to juggle paying all of the bills and spending money is a release.

It really is a stress release for some people so spending becomes an addiction. Like a drug the credit card industry is starting to plague society from the ground up. I doubt that the government will outright make credit cards illegal but I think we will be seeing the government putting much more restriction on their use. They also see this debt epidemic starting to work its way into all facets of life. It won’t be long before you will have to check into credit card rehab.

The Rise of Credit

Is there really a point to having a credit card? Well in today’s world it is almost a must have for most people. The simple fact is credit cards are an easier form of payment ad quicker form of payment than cash can be in most situations. No needing to worry about the change or waiting while the cashier has trouble figuring out why you paid them a certain way. Another aspect of credit cards, really the industry that surged the credit card business to where it is today is online business. Naturally you can’t pay someone online with cash so it is MUCH easier to just put it on your credit card than have to deal with sending a check.

The process is so much more streamlined with a credit card it seems like the credit cards were made for this type of business. This is a double edged sword because back in the day, only twenty-thirty years ago, credit cards were very much a premium that very few people had. The internet age really changed everything because now information could be transported quickly and people had another use for their cards. No one wanted to go through the hassle of using a credit card back when everything was done manually and it took ages to actually go through the process.

What is a credit card?

What is a credit card? Basically it is a loan in the generalist sense of the word. You don’t have the cash on hand to pay for whatever you are using your credit card for so instead you use the card. The company that owns the card lets you borrow money from them with the full intent of getting their money back, with interest. They don’t just give money away because sadly the world we live in isn’t all that nice when it comes to things like that. Normally the interest rate on credit card can vary greatly anywhere from 0% to the high 20s. Sadly credit card reform in the states isn’t as great as it should be so credit card companies are getting away with charging incredibly high fees as well as rates.

The borrower is normally stuck using these horrible cards because they depend on them to survive. With the way that the economy is today it would seem that this is becoming more the norm for struggling families. It is a very dangerous situation to be in because the more debt we collect as a nation the more problems we inherit that are associated with the acquisition of debt.
